Craft

Crafting is where it all started and it’s still going strong!

Crafting workshops

The Ariundle Centre runs regular craft workshops to suit all interests. In Spring and Autumn there are weekend workshops that include basket making, felting, weaving, patchwork, batik – to name but a few. We also have our own sheep so you can learn how to prepare your own fleece and then knit your own hat or scarf from the wool you spin. We can show you natural dying techniques using wind blown materials found locally.

The workshops are usually arranged over a two-day period with food provided and accommodation is available if required. However, we do have day courses in Spinning, Natural Dying, Batik and Felting. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Spinning groups are welcome to organise a get together or social weekend of spinning and dyeing, knitting and chitchat. Accommodation and meals can be organised as part of this.

Craft gift shop

We have our own sheep on the croft from which we clip and prepare the fleece, then spin or card it
which can then be used to knit or felt into garments. This lovely wool from our own sheep is used to create pure wool jumpers and other garments including hand spun and hand kitted. In our giftshop you will find hand made items using local materials, an extensive range of yarns for knitters, crocheters and crafters, paintings, cards and many other unique gift items.
